A Recipe For The A.D.D. At Heart

I just recently presented a survey to all the citizens of internet-dom. I wanted to find out what, you the reader, find interesting when it comes to cooking and the food world as a whole. After hours and hours of scientific analyzation, professional deliberation thoughtfully executed acid tests, the sum of my results are; Most all people are really, really lazy.

The majority wanted easy, tasty, simple food, and no work at all to get it. According to the survey, the recipes need to be short, easy to read, easy to shop for, if possible, no shopping would ever be required, unless the ingredients in question would be purchased at a quaint farmers market on a first date or first sleep over and you want to prove to your hook-up that you’re sensitive and have more skills than drinking tequila.

Another result was that most everyone enjoyed some aspect of the “celebrity chef” but not for the food they prepared but for their personalities. Even more odd, many people liked some shows because the chef was so unlikable. Hmmm.

So what can I do with this cutting edge information? Feel free to send your comments on the PERFECT show or video idea that will meet the needs of the ambiguous home cook…

Try this recipe on for size. It’s a handful of ingredients and very little time; maybe 20 minutes (less time than trying to find a parking spot)

Glenn

A handful of broccoli, cut up

A handful of oyster mushrooms or any that you like

1 Chicken breast, cut up.

Garlic, as much as you can stand

Mung Bean sprouts, use the entire bag, you won’t use them again and they will go bad

2 cup stock or water

Soy Sauce

Chopped Green onions

Cooked Pasta noodles (Udon, if the store has them but any will work)

In a saute pan, heat some oil, throw in the cut up chicken, brown it . Add the broccoli and brown it. Add the mushrooms and garlic. Saute’ until it smells awesome. Add the soy and the liquid of choice, heat until hot. Add the pasta, toss. Taste, add salt and pepper. (I added red chili flakes to mine). Top with sprouts and green onions. Eat. Simple
